This rifle is made in 2006 by Daniel Casey of Bebe, AR who was 19 years old at the time. The gun has excellent early style and characteristics and is very well built. It has artificially aged components and has a very pleasing old look to it. It is .50 caliber with a 42" octagonal barrel. The barrel is mounted with a brass blade front sight and a very unusual Kentucky style dovetailed rear sight. The barrel has a heavily distressed surface which is applied to make the gun look old, which it does. The stock is of walnut which has an almost black coloration. It is straight grained with no figure and has excellent early characteristics with large proportions in the buttstock area. It is mounted with iron furniture comprising the large buttplate, patchbox, hand forged triggerguard, ramrod thimbles and sideplate. The nosecap is poured pewter with piercing. The furniture all has the nice aged finish including the patchbox. The initials "DC" are engraved in script on the patchbox. Single fancy trigger is present. Flintlock mechanism also has the aged finish on it. A feather vent pick is present on the underside of the shallow cheekpiece. Overall condition is excellent.
