Frequently Asked Questions

This is one of the lightest double barrel 12 gauge shotguns I have ever encountered. It weighs 5.1 lbs. The barrels are just over 28" in length and are choked improved modified and modified. The chambers measure 2 3/4" but I have to believe this gun was made for 2" or 2 1/2" shells. The barrels externally are perfectly smooth and dark brown with all of the fancy Damascus pattern showing. It is quite possible that these barrels have been rebrowned. The top rib is nicely engraved "Wm MOORE & GREY 43 OLD BOND St LONDON W." Bores are excellent. Action lock up is perfectly tight and opens with a top lever. The frame is very small in size, actually appears to be 20 gauge or smaller in scale. Front action locks measure 3 5/8" in length and are finely engraved with scroll around the border with flourishes at the front and rear. "Wm MOORE & GREY" is engraved on each lockplate. Locks click up perfect with rebounding hammers. Coloration of the frame is dark gray. All of the engraving is perfectly sharp and edges and corners are sharp also. Serial number is 4441. Walnut stocks are in excellent condition also. Forend with snap latch shows no wear to the checkering. Straight grip style with very slender wrist also shows virtually no wear to the checkering. Surface of the stock is very smooth. Length of pull to the pad is 13 3/4" and a thick hard rubber solid pad is present giving a total length of 14 1/2". Sling swivel eyes are present on the bottom of the barrel and on the bottom of the stock. Overall condition is very fine.
