Depending how picky you want to be, this Walker is shootable right out of the box!
It comes fully assembled, and in the white.
I usually wait until my blued revolvers get scratched up a bit, and then do the vinegar treatment on them, as I think a gun "in the white" looks much more authentic...(read...OLD)
So basically, all I did was take a fine file to all the exposed edges and smooth them up a bit.
The grip is really rough, but with some patience and succeedingly finer grit sandpaper, she came out great.
Took her out back and ran 40 grains of 3f and a .457 round ball through her, and she shot about 4 inches high. No biggie to me, and the windage was spot on.
If there were 6 starts for this horse pistol, I would have given it 6, as I'm super happy with this kit.
If you have ANY mechanical or woodworking skills, the kit is the way to go.
