I received an Artillery Carbine from Dixie Arms. It is a first rate replica, made by Pietta...the finish is very good, excellent wood to metal fit, the action closes up very tightly, you can't see the separation. It compares favourably with original Smiths.
I have shot this weapon numerous times and it shoots very well at twenty-five and fifty yards, though I have not measured any groups. The fire channel between the cap and the cartridge tends to get plugged up after about ten shots, residue I expect, so put some Hoppe's in there to keep the Smith shooting. An excellent and well crafted replica.
