Review:
OK. Now I'm ready to give this pistol a higher star rating than before.
However, I WILL echo what many reviewers have said before -- this is NOT a Level 1 pistol. I'd give it a 2, maybe even a 3. It requires a lot of adjustment and machining of the metal parts. A Dremel or similar tool (I used a Kawasaki rotary tool) is ESSENTIAL in order to burnish and round and shape the pieces in order for it to work.
Particularly the trigger sear and the hammer sear area and hammer pin. I needed to "round" the trigger sear, add a bit of play in the camber of the hammer area where the hammer sear fits (the hammer sear is already pretty well rounded) and I also needed to "waist" the hammer pin slightly. I recommend also a pair of vice-grip pliers to help builders get the hammer into position with the spring in order to tap the pin into place.
Aside from all of this (and yes, the grip is kind of ugly, but I've worked it and made it into something utilitarian), this is after a lot of work, a nice little pistol. Definitely NOT a concealed carry piece. It must weigh 10 pounds, and looks more like something Yosemite Sam would wave around. I may even be able to give it five stars after I've range-tested it. Right now, I'm satisfied. I think I'll be ordering more kits from these people.
