Pedersili makes some very nice guns and the 1766 Charleville is no exception. I was quite impressed with the wood to metal fit around the lock and sideplate. Also the gun is very gentle on the flint. Unlike the cheaper Indian made reproductions this musket doesn't pound the flint into oblivion. At a recent event I had more than 54 shots fired before I even had to knap the flint. I was very happy with the Charleville...I already have the Pedersoli 2nd Model Brown Bess and it too is a very nice musket. I just wish that Pedersoli made a Long Land Bess and a 1728 St. Etienne musket for those of us interested in French & Indian War.

Excellent reproduction. I suggest the purchase and installation of a flash shield outboard of the vent and frizzen to protect fellow shooters to the right.

I can't yet comment on my new Charleville's function as it arrived days before my departure for work (I work at sea). The appearance of the thing is \"fantastic\"". The furniture fit and finish make it literally show off. \""Impressive\""."

Fantastic musket; I've put roughly 100 +/- rounds through it and the musket is shooting as fine as the day it arrived. Fit and finish are excellent. Have had no problems with the frizzen sparking; it throws great sparks. I did send the musket to Lodgewood Arms for defarbing & stock reshaping which has resulted in the perfect musket.

Lovin' it !!!
I have always loved collector pieces, from my M1 Garand, 1942 Mosin-Nagant, P53 Enfield. This is now my most-used piece. Fire 4-5 rounds and it'll gum-up. Using a borescope you'll find micro burrs in the tube. Use 3M's red metal-working pad and make lil squares to polish the bore. Afterwards put 0000 steel wool on a patch worm. Screw the patch worm onto your range rod and use a drill to polish the tube. Micro burrs will be gone and I now can shoot 15+ rounds before having to brush the tube. This is an EXCELLENT piece, well made and assembled. When not at the range, this baby is proudly displayed as a wall hanger. You'll love it!
