Great version of the Pennsylvania “Roman-nose style” rifle which was produced in Chambersburg, PA. Although a beautiful firearm, the simplicity of this rifle makes it a durable and hardworking hunting gun. American walnut fullstock with satin oil finish. Stock is 56” in length. 3 ¾” drop and 13 ½” trigger pull. Barrel is browned, 41 ½” octagon, 7/8" flats with a 1 in 48” twist. Front sight is 3/8” dovetail, blued steel base and blade. Rear sight is 3/8” dovetail blued steel semi-buckhorn open style w/push elevator. Features brass furniture, color casehardened lock with double set/double phase trigger. 57” overall length and weighs 8 ¼ lbs. Manufactured by Pedersoli/Italy. REQUIRES AN ADDITIONAL $18.00 OVERSIZE CHARGE.

I ordered this rifle on 3/02/2006 and received it on 3/06/2006. Dixie did an excellent job with shipping it to me right away. As for the rifle It is beautiful. Perfect for reenactment. I plan on using it for big game hunting. I have not fired it yet. I did install a flint (5/8) and fired without powder. It puts off an excellent shower of sparks. I am pleased with Pedersoli. I just purchased a log cabin with 70 acres on the edge of the Daniel Boone National Forest. So I took my rifle out for the first time. I find that 3f for the main charge and flash pan works better then 2f and 4f. It fires every time. It is more reliable than my percussion rifles. It makes a lot of smoke and a lot of noise. This rifle is turning out to be my favorite rifle. And I thought flintlocks were useless.

AMAZING
This rifle shoots incredibly well. The Hmmer spring has great tension and reliably hits the frizen with enough force and accuracy to creat a spark and ignite the pan evry time. The rifle is also accurate, I was hitting an 8 inch steel plate from 50 yards right out the box. The sights are great. The front sight is a great thickness and matches up perfecty for the rear sight notch. This gun is a great shooter!
