GS0655 Front Sight (Original) for M1835 Original U.S. Musket & 1842 Springfield Musket

The catalogue does not specify but this is actually a front sight for a rifle conversion of the muskets. The original smoothbore sight was a simple brass blade. If you look carefully at the photograph in the printed catalogue you will see that this is a steel (iron?) blade on a convex base. The sight I received was in very good condition for a 150 year old part. It has only some spotty light rust which should clean off easily.
