This is a great product it works very well as a bullet lube when mixed one part parifine wax one part mutton tallow and 1/2 part bee's wax. Makes a great black powder lube. The lanolin in mutton tallow seems to make it slicker than beef tallow. I've yet to have mutton tallow go rancid even storing it in my shop on the shelf through the summer. Great stuf.

IT'S THE BEST DRY SKIN CREAM EVER MADE BAR NONE. I USED ALL KIND OF DIFFERENT LOTIONS ON MY FEET AND LEGS AND NOTHING HELPED. ONE DAY I WAS USING THE MUTTON TALLOW ON SOMETHING TO DO WITH MY MUZZLE LOADER AND JUST SAID WHAT THE HAY AND TRIED IT ON MY FEET. WHERE MY FEET AND LEGS WERE DRY AND CRACKED FROM SWELLING NOW THEY ARE SOFT AND SMOOTH. LIKE BEAR GREASE TO THE INDIANS. THANKS DIXIE

If You want to try something great melt Beeswax & Crisco together in ratio adjusted for regional temperature (more wax is stiffer to raise melting point) and add mutton tallow or Lanolin. This creates a ball lube which is like 'Bore Butter' but doesn't melt in the Texas summers. Start with small amounts & You can remelt & alter mixture as you require if you are careful not to overheat. I use microwave but double boiler is good... This product on your patches will season a barrel like a dutch oven and keeps my guns from any sign of rust! You can rub it all over your guns as a preservative I use it over balls in revolvers too! While melted I pour into a \"Prell Shampoo\"" tube or other squeeze tube. tube should be suspended in water to prevent melting it. DOC"

Mr Curtis Stanton is absolutelly correct insofar as mutton tallow is the most supeior lubricant for the skin. I am a dermatologist and have been telling patients to buy sheep's kidneys and pare off the fat and render it to produce mutton tallow. I suggest they store it in the refrigerator however for safe-keeping. The kidneys make good eating too.
