LP1002 Lock (repro.) for 2nd Model Brown Bess Musket

This lock is a drop in replacement for a Pedersoli Brown Bess. It is also fairly easy to put into an older Japanese Bess, just requiring moving one of the lock bolt holes in the stock and side plate and some minor wood shaving.

I purchased this lock a while back intending to build a sea service musket. The first thing I noticed was that the cock was misaligned with the frizzen requiring filing the parts to get a proper fit. Upon disassembly I found that the threaded portion of the frizzen screw was almost nonexistant so that the frizzon was held on by only 1/2 of a thread. My conclusion is that Pedersoli assembles these locks with defective parts and that the lock itself will require \"tuning up\"" before it is serviceable."
