MA0213 Blanket Pin 1 1/4"

Used as a trade item with Indian tribes for furs, the larger pins were worn as a closure for the blanket at the shoulder. The smaller sizes were sometimes used as decoration on blanket clothing, in several rows at the bottom of a dress, or across the yoke. Made of solid bar brass, a pin is bent around the outer ring and filed to a point. The ends of the outer circle are flattened to give the pins a more decorative look.
