The standard brass “F” trumpet (adopted February 15, 1879) was regulation for all foot troops. Bugles for mounted troops had a detachable “C” crook furnished. Available now for the first time, this variation of the regulation bugles (called “trumpets” in army regulations) is a remarkable instrument. With the “C” crook detached, the bugle is 16” long, 4” wide at the center. The bell is 4 ½”. When “C” crook is added, the bugle is 19’ long. Mouthpiece furnished.
