The Best Available for Old Style Capote
This pattern is the only pattern that I’m aware of for an old style tailored capote. The other patterns are for the square cut Native American style that dates dates to the reservation period and later. If you want to build a true fur trade era capote, this is not only the best available, but the only available - Unless have the skills to draft your own pattern, and I don’t. The arms and body are fitted at the shoulders which make its fit a bit closer..
Because of this tailoring, this pattern is more difficult to assemble than the other patterns, and the instructions are sparse. The body goes together easy enough but it took me a while and a lot of thinking to fit the arms into place. After I figured out that I needed to mark left and right of both the sleeves and body to keep things strait in my head, the rest went together alright. I do wish that button locations for the trapper style were marked on the pattern, but that’s a minor complaint..

It's good, but not great
The overall layout of the patterns is good. The assembly instructions are non-existent.
