Excellent product. Well cast bullets with average mic'd diameter and skirt thickness that are both correct. Minor variances and miniscule abnormalities that are found with ANY hand cast bullet. As such a few may need a little more \"thumb\"" to start in the barrel. If one needs perfection then running them through a sizer would be recommended. They come bare so lubricate them by dipping tail-first in a 1:1 mixture of molten beeswax and crisco to cover all three grooves. Ogive of bullet is actually period correct rather than what is suggested by pictures. No problems obturating into the rifling and stabilizing with a 60-65 grain FFg charge in a Pedersoli M1861 Springfield."

I have shot these in my Pedersoli M1861 Springfield replica. They are easy to load but are not lubed so I fill the grooves with Crisco. They shoot very well at 100 yards through this rifle.

Seems great
Received my order of 100 minie balls only had one that had a out of round base but should still shoot. Some had some flaws but nothing that should affect accuracy. Very happy for the price. Ordered 2 more 100 round packs. Thanks dixie gun works

I purchased a Zouave rifle from Dixie and also ordered the minie bullets. I was a little concerned by the one review I saw. They were somewhat out of round and slightly oversize. However they round out nicely when rolled between a flat surface and a flat piece of steel. Once I did that they all checked out to about .577. Thus done they worked very well and loaded without a hitch.

I followed Gregory's advice and rolled the minies between to flat surfaces. I used aluminum 90 degree bracket stock for this. It was relatively painless took only about 10 seconds for each bullet. I used them in an Armi Sport 1861 Springfield Rifle using a little bore butter and no patch. They were very easy to load and shoot. I can't comment on accuracy as I'm new to big caliber muzzle loaders. I liked them and will be buying some more.
