I have used Wonder Wads for over 10 years and can't say enough about them. I shoot Frontiersman catagory in SASS competition. I have not only used the wads in percussion revolvers but in BP cartridges for my .44-40 rifle. With both the pistols and the rifle I can shoot a full day's stages (Usually 60 rounds each for both rifle and pistols) and not need to clean the bores between stages. I have never experienced an accuracy loss in either pistols or rifle. In the evening the bores clean easily using plain soap and water or Ballistol and water.

I have used these wads in my Pedersoli Sharps .45-70. Use about a 30\" drop tube to allow the powder to compact in the case and then place one of the wads on top of the powder. I used the eraser end of a pencil to tamp it down a bit. Try 65grains of FFG with a 410 gr. lead cast bullet and use WW L.R. Mag. primers. Seating the bullet will compress the charge. It works and it is an accurate load."

I have used these wads in 44cal. they seem to keep the powder free of oil much longer than my home made ones.If you are using a heavy powder charge be sure to concider there thickness. I have also found that by forcing two wads into the cylender side by side you can make a very effective blank for liveing history and such (just don't fire it directly at anyone).Give 'em a try it's worth it....Dr. John

Many shooters prefer to use these wads in place of the messier over-ball grease. I wanted to find out what effect if any they have on load performance. The chronograph results were inconsistent with some loads provider higher velocities with the wonder wads and others lower. There seems to be no difference in accuracy The wads do reduce or delay barrel fouling build-up when compared to loads with grease over the ball. I wipe the barrel between every cylinder full and find that using the wonder wads materially reduces the effort.

Been using these with my Uberti 1858 Remington .44-cal and find them to work beautifully! After an hour or two of shooting no residue or evidence of fouling at all. Been using Hodgdon's Triple-7 synthetic BP tho so don't know if there would be more fouling with reg. BP or Pyrodex-P. But with the combination of these Wonder Wads and the Triple-7 synth BP I've had great shooting and no mess really at all. Easiest clean-up ever! Very Shiny.
