BE0203 Brown Bess Bayonet

Margaret is my loving wife who purchased this bayonet for me as a Christmas gift. I have had my Bess for several years now and I have wanted a quality bayonet to go with it. I went the cheap route earlier and purchased an after market Indian knock off for $45.00 and got just what I paid for. Sure it locked on to the musket but that was about it. It was not straight and it was a very loose fit that hung like a wet noodle. If you want a quality bayonet this is the one to get. It fits the Pedersoli Bess like a glove. It's straight and having seen original bayonets it is very very close to the real thing. It does not come with a shoulder carriage or scabbard but luckily the scabbard that came with my cheaper version fits the new bayonet just fine.

I haven't bought this. I just don't see any other way to respond to the guy who complained that his bayonet isn't sharp. In the late 1700s and early 1800s, the British did not normally sharpen their bayonets. They did sharpen them earlier than that (at least one edge). The bayonet being dull is correct. If you want to sharpen it, you can.

This is the bayonet that chased the beaten enemies of the British Empire from countless battlefields for somewhere near a century. Looks just as terrifying today. This replica is made by Pedersoli, and is very solid, well shaped, and nicely polished. Fits my Pedersoli Brown Bess nicely, with just a little play. I have no idea how much play there should be, but it doesn't seem excessive, plus I think I can make it fit a little tighter pretty easily. Have to give this wicked piece of cold steel five stars. Very nice.

I bought this for my Brown Bess. I am very disappointed. It is dull and not sharp. It has no point. If you are looking for a \"real\"" bayonet this is NOT it."
