Our friend, artiest David Wright, has returned to the place of his first paints, the Rocky Mountains and the hardy men who sought to tame them in the early 1800s. David stats about Climbing the Western Slope, “During the rousing days of the western fur trade, brigades of mountain men ranged the vast expanse of the Rocky Mountains from the southern Taos country to the northern ramparts of the Crow an Blackfoot (sic) Indians. Pushing into the depths of the valleys and trapping the cold mountain streams for beaver, these rugged hivernants braved the elements and fought hostile enemies in search of personal riches….these stalwart hunters traveled a wondrous land when it was till pristine.” Image size, 25” X 17 ½”, a print run of 995, signed and numbered.
