Classic European styling is reflected in this type rifle which was bought by large trading companies such as Hudson’s Bay, Northwest Company and American Fur Company for trade in America with the Indians and fur trappers in the late 17 and early 1800s. The shortened design made it easy to carry on foot or on horseback. This is a fullstock 51 3/16” length. Barrel is 20 gauge, 36 ¼”, Octagon breech to round w/wedding band transition. Front sight is a brass blade. Features a casehardened lock, single trigger, large triggerguard bow, and a brass serpent sideplate. Comes with steel buttplate. Made by Pedersoli/Italy.

This is a kit. Bluing, browning, and finishing will be required.

95% done
Honestly this was the fastest kit I put together, it was practically done. I had to sand and stain the stock and chisel around the lock mortise. I also had to open up the ramrod entry hole on the stock, there is no entry thimble. It took about three hours. I did have a small chip occur on the stock when reinstalling the barrel pins. I removed the barrel to clean up the wood stain that leaked under the barrel. I put in the pin closest to the action and the left side, action screw head side, slightly chipped. Was able to repair it, not a big deal. I haven't shot it yet. I plan on shooting it with round lead bb pellets like a shotgun. Action is very good, frizzen spring is heavy but, it sparks well. This is the least expensive Italian made smoothbore musket I believe you will find. A nice step above the Indian made muskets.

this is a nice kit to put togetherit comes already assembled(in the white)pretty simple job to finish it just dissasemble do the final sanding and whiskering of the stock polish the brass butplate and thimbles file a draft on the triggerguard and your done.the barrel is pretty much already polished and has a very dark blue colori stripped this off and put a brown finish.nowthe reason i gave it only three stars....the lock......pedersoli you could have done a much better job !anyway i bought an after market lock from r.e. daviswith just a little bit of extra inletting it fit perfect and no more lock ignition problems.all in all this is a very nice gun just be prepard to upgrade to a better lock.

Don't waste your money.
The inletting is horrible gap around the lock the tang is pro 1/8 shorter then the inletting ram rod pips are not inlet but the pins are already drilled the channel for the ram rod is over 1/8 inch deeper then the hole for it and 2 of 3 barrel pens are drilled at a angle. Yall save yourself some time and get a different kit
