1st Model with color casehardened frame and no cut-outs on the side for the breechblock. Serial number is 34770, made in 1895. The frame has about 80% of the good vivid color casehardening remaining. The color casehardening on the left side would appear to be 100% but the problem is on the right side of the frame. There is a thumb print sized area at the center right side of the frame which is moderately pitted. In addition, there is slight discoloration otherwise on the right side. The right side would have only about 70% of the color casehardening remaining taking into account this small area of pitting and discoloration. Caliber is .22 Long. The octagonal barrel is 24 3/8" long and has a 3/4 length tubular magazine beneath it. The barrel has about 90% original blue finish. It is mounted with a steel blade front sight and a sporting style rear sight. All markings on the barrel are excellent. The tubular magazine has about 80% original blue finish remaining. Action works perfectly. The bore is about fine. The grooved forend and straight grip walnut buttstock are in excellent condition. Almost all of the original varnish remains on the forend which shows very little wear and also on the buttstock which has light wear to the varnish in the wrist area. The buttstock is mounted with a crescent buttplate which was also color casehardened with about 50% faint colors remaining on it. It is otherwise light gray in color and smooth with no pitting. Overall condition of the gun is about excellent.

Sorry but this is not a first model. First models went to #15552 Aug. of 1892. This is a 2nd model as it is a take down model and not the 2 screw model as were the first models. This may influence your pricing.
