15561 REID "MY FRIEND" KNUCKLE DUSTER REVOLVER

.22 rimfire caliber. Standard Reid knuckle duster with the exception of a 1 7/8" round barrel added to the frame. I can find no reference to this gun in any book. The brass frame has about 20% original silver plating remaining in protected areas mostly. Standard engraving is present and is very sharp. Engraving consists of scrolls on either side of the frame, a checkered shield pattern on the back of the frame and scrolls on the back of the frame and on the forward portion of the frame and border engraving on the top. The top strap is stamped on the left side above the cylinder "MY FRIEND PAT'D DEC. 26, 1865." Cylinder is dull gray in color with some original fire blue finish remaining on the hammer. Action works well. Sliding cylinder lock is present on the bottom forward portion of the frame. The round barrel has about 60% original nickel plating remaining and has nice age and appears to have been either attached at the factory or possibly during the period of use. Small delicate brass blade front sight. Serial number is 8581. Overall condition is fine.
