One of the most famous and successful rifles of all time. More than 700,000 were made from 1873-1919 in a bewildering array of variations. The buttstock and forearm are made of European walnut with satin finish with 3 1/2" drop with a 13" tripper pull. The barrel is a .44/40, blued, 24 1/4" tapered octagon barrel. .860" at breech to .725" at muzzle. Cut rifling .004" deep. 1-36" twist, 6 lands with .424 and 6 grooves. 3/8"dovetail front sight, 1 piece steel base and blade. 3/8" dovetail rearight, blued steel semi-buckhorn, open style w/push elevator. Uses .44/40 black powder cartridge or factory loaded ammo with 13 capacity magazine. Has blued steel furniture, color casehardened frame, single trigger. Made in Italy by Uberti.
