This revolver was designed by Major George W. Schofield for use by the United States Army and was chambered for the .45 S&W Schofield cartridge. Has 2 piece grips with a European walnut stock. Frame is blued steel. This is the .45 LC Cavalry model and has a 7" blued , round, rifles barrel. Front sight is a silver blade. Ignition is .45 LC black powder cartridge. Workmanship and quality is outstanding. Being in the .45 LC caliber makes it all the more desirable. Well worth he price as is the Russian #3 Model.

After having my Schofield for a while now I thought I would write a review. The fit finish and workmanship is in my opinion second to none and that includes Smith & Wesson themselves. The only flaw I could find in the piece and that is a very small one is the trigger pull its to long and rough to my liking but thats me. As a matter of fact I am considering buying another. Everyone I show the gun to says it is a beautiful gun.

just did the paper work on my new Schofield it is outstanding! absolutely beautiful! the fit and finish are excellent I cannot understand how anybody would find the Dixie Gun Works on the left side of the pistol unsightly it is no bigger than any of the other lettering on it. I guess some people are just nitpicky and cannot be pleased. I hope that it shoots as good as it looks. I can barely wait for the two day waiting period to pass so that I can try it out.

Having now been able to shoot my Schofield with several different types of ammo I would like to add to my previous review I still absolutely love this pistol! it handles cowboy loads and Remington green box equally well it does'nt however like Pyrodex loads very much it gets a little gummed up. but overall IT\"S GREAT! "

My wife gave me this revolver for Christmas. I'm looking forward to shooting it....soon! The revolver is tight and well made. It will take some time to get used to the grip. Much different than the Colts I have been using. I'm very happy with Uberti's product and would recommend this revolver to anyone interested in the other guns of \"Old West.\"""
