Faithful reproduction of the Springfield M1873 Trapdoor Carbine features 29 7/8" American walnut halfstock with satin finish, 2 1/4" drop and 13 ½" trigger pull. Blued barrel is 22" long tapered 1.040" at breech to .770" at muzzle with cut rifling .006" deep and a 1-22" twist, three lands measure .450" and three grooves measure .458". Front sight is blued steel lug with integral blade (not correct for carbine). Rear sight is blued steel long range style with flip-up and elevator (not an exact copy of an original sight). Chambered for 45/70 black powder cartridge or factory loaded smokeless ammo. Blued steel furniture, color casehardened breechblock, 3-click tumbler. Lockplate marked with spread eagle & "U.S. SPRINGFIELD". Steel ramrod not threaded. Overall length is 41" and weight is 7 lbs. Made by Pedersoli in Italy. MODERN GUN RULES APPLY.(See F.A.Q. #7)

Just received it so only have had chance to shoot it at 50 and 100 yards and it is very accurate. Very accurate. Quality and workmanship is terrific. Quality is better than I expected.

I returned my rifle to Dixie and they repaired the ejector. She is running like a top. I real nice shooter!

I received this rifle today. I took it out for a test drive. The fit and finish is really good. It has a sweet trigger but the ejector will not eject a fired cartridge. It only backs it out about a 1/4 of an inch. I am returning it to have them look at it. So with that being said I cant give this rifle a good score at this time.
