Just got my .56-50 Spencer from Dixie on sale and couldn't be more pleased. I had one of the earliest of these imports and it had a couple of issues. I am pleased to say my new Dixie Spencer is better fitted finished and timed. With Starline brass 40 grains of FFg and a modified 345-grain Lee bullet the rounds just flow through the action like butter as fast as I can work the action and cock the hammer. This is about as close as a fellow can come to replicating true Civil War-era performance in a well-made reproduction of an American classic.
