Machined from brass rod stock and designed to use a .22 rimfire blank in a special chamber inside the cartridge. The firing pin hits the .22’s rimfire and ignites the black powder loaded in the main cartridge. Fill this case as full as possible with black powder leaving room for a round ball. Load these cases one at a time in repeating arms; the .22’s primer will not always be at the firing pin’s point of impact. All chambers can be loaded in the Richards and Richards Mason Colt conversions. The Spencer rimfire case work nicely in both rifle and carbine chambered for .56/50 and .56/52. The .22 rimfire blanks (our stock number XA2710 work well with this.) These cases cannot be used in the 1866 Winchester and the Henry because the guns have two firing pin lugs. Priced each or order 6 for a discounted price reflected on final invoice.

The cases work fine in my 1868 Spencer rifle with the firing pin hitting the blank rim fully. Brass is shorter than I thought but still works fine with a light .515\" bullet at 50m."

The case has been revised and put on a fully automated manufacturing process. The case is as close to perfection as can be achieved and tested beautifully.

To use in 56-50 I had to size case in my 50-70 Size die. NOTE: 22 blank rim diameters do vary. I found several thousands difference and ended up using only those whose diameter was at least 0.275 in. Doing the above lets one shoot as advertised. We are fortunate to have these available but note my comments for success.

Very Happy With This Case
I use these with my 1862 Sharps & Hankings 54 cal bore. I have no complaints at all and very pleased. I have used both the recommended blanks and the 22 short CB from CCi and prefer my shortened empty cases much better. More work, but much easier to remove after firing. Both can fit a little loose in the case but the 22 shorts just fit better to me overall. I have found that a little clear fingernail polish with a brush on the inside really helps. The 22 blanks tend to mushroom. No case damage at all with my firing pin strike which is a big plus. I purchased 6 to start and now have 20 total. Some have been reloaded 3 times with no problem. Pleased indeed and I salute Dixie for making these available.

Works Perfectly
Used it in my Tripplet and Scott in 56-50 Spencer. and it worked perfectly. It would be a reduced load due to the difference in case length (1.16" Spencer vs .89" Dixie). Wished it was in stock...I would order more
