First Time BP Shooter
I purchased this rifle last fall. At first, I was nervous about shoot BP for the first time. I purchased everything I needed to get started. I started with 60 grains of powder with ball ammo. I was surprised by the accuracy right out of the box.
I still haven't adjusted the sights. I've had it out twice. It is pleasant to shoot as compared to a modern say a 338 Win Mag. 90 grains of Pyrodex shoot flat, accurate and ( I have to say pleasant). Very happy with my rifle.
Assembly was simple. Cleaning is not difficult. It is heavy, but that is why I bought a sling. Very happy. Wood and trim both beautiful and strong.

A great gift to get a friend started in muzzleloading
My army buddies and I go elk hunting and we use traditional muzzle loading rifles. I invited another army buddy who never used a muzzle loading firearm before. So I made this one a gift to get her started as it is suitable for elk and affordable, It was delivered today and she is very pleased with this Hawken rifle.
