Just got it delivered and Dixie sure sent it fastwow! This is one beautiful rifle. It was not bulky and the wieght is lightreal easy to handle. The stock has a nice finish to it and the blueing is flawless.Metal to wood match on the lock is great but on the patchbox I would say good not perfect. Cant wait to shoot it.Trigger pull was not binding or too tightreal smooth. I recommend this rifle.

As usual Dixie has outdone itself. Just received my new Pedersoli Kentucky .45 rifle. The fit and finish are excellent. It is exactly as advertised. Immediately after receiving it I cleaned it and then took it outside to see what it could do. The sights need to be adjusted but it shoots very well. The ramrod was very hard to get out of the channel but that will loosen up with time. It basically is the Frontier rifle just a few inches shorter with a patch box and a brass piece at the end of the stock but the wood looks very nice. Looking forward to hunting season here in Wy. but will have to decide if I want to shoot this one or my .54 Frontier rifle.

Forgot to say I also bought me an flint lockcomplete with vent and every thing from Dixie for the rifledone in 3-4 min to change from perc to flint love the rifle so much that I choose to use the same gun both for competition classes for flintand for perc. Didnt cost moore than 106$ +flint and vent 15$ -+ shipping for the flint lock So about 140-150$ In total for complete flint lock (bolt on) shiped to me here in norway not bad for it so a great way to get all the shooting classes with the same rifle.

I just received one of these last month. I have been a casual bp shooter for over 50 years. Wish I had one of these back then. Style is plain Jane. Fit finish (with noted exception) and component quality are all very good. I did drop my rating a star based mainly on the blued barrel. I find the ergonomics to be excellent. The barrel is long enough for a good sight radius but short and light enough for a good balance point and good muzzle control. This would make a super first bp rifle for someone. It would also be a great step up from a lot of starter rifles that have been on the market.
