Thanks fo rthe response I tried to call but I am a couple of time zones away so it can be hard to catch the gunsmith. One more issue is the set trigger is really hard to set in pull difficulty. Is there any way to lighten the pull it is difficult for my boys to set the trigger. They both have thompson 50 cal hawkens the set triggers are no problem or any other rifles we have encountered. I operate a chainsaw daily and the set is a noticable hard to pull for me. The rifle shoots really good smooth as can be if I can resolve the issue I we puchase a couple more rifles. Thank you for your response and support. DGW RESPONSE: There are two ways to adjust this but both can affect the operation of the lock. You can turn in the small screw located behing the rear trigger or lossen the screw that holds the spring in place. If these are adjusted too much it can cause the lock not to fall when the front trigger is pulled because the tension of the spring to power the rear trigger has been reduced. My recommendation would be to turn the screw behind the rear trigger in 1/2 turn at at time uil the triggers will not trip the lock and then back the screw out 1/4 turn at a time until it starts working again.

Nice little rifle my sons love to shoot this rifle has one major problem. The sights are fixed non adjustable the rifle shoots really low even using the whole front sight blade. I expected a better sight for the price and quality of this rifle. Good quality gun only to be a project for me now to find a set of sights so that it can really be used. I would have purchased a kit if I wanted to build the thing. Bummer DIXIE GUN WORKS RESPONSE: The sights on this firearm are consistent with the majority of sights found on traditional muzzleloading rifle. Sight adjustments for windage may be achieved by drifting the front or rear sights right or left in their dovetail fittings. Elevation adjustments are made by filing down the front sight or deepening the notch in the rear sight.
