I'm very pleased with this piece. It indexes all it's chambers precisely and gives me groups that don't have to take a back seat to those from any other handgun I own! I would not hesitate to buy another Pietta after owning this one.

i got this 1858 remington new army and i am very pleased with it's performance and accuracy only thing i found wrong with this pistol was in the finish it was blue steel frame with a brass triger guard the finish was excelent except for the triger guard and triger it had very sharp edges and the inside of the guard was not polished and the triger was very sharp also other than that it is an exceptional pistol and i would recomend it to anyone i am considering on geting another one so i will have a matched pair

This Pietta revolver is great. This was my first BP gun ever. I read many reviews and forums and wondered why people seemed so hard on Pietta I have no historical knowledge of them. I can say that this pistol is very good. The blueing is deep and even the grip is just right the brass is smooth. At 10 yards it shoots just a hair low but straight on. I use 30grns Triple Se7en FFFg .454 balls pre-lubed Wonder Wads and CCI #11 caps. I had one nipple that seemed slightly larger than the others the cap fit on it but left it riding a bit high. I replaced the nipple and had no issues. I cut an 8\" length of 3/8\"" PVC and use it to help with the loading lever. I am going to get a loading stand and an extra cylinder. Changing the cylinders on this model is a snap. I look forward to acquiring more Pietta BP pistols in the future."

I bought this pistol with brass frame in 1989 and another with steel frame in 2002. I have fired my steel frame Remington hundreds of times and never had a misfire. They are very accurate shooters (more accurate than my modern .45 auto) I also have two precussion pistols and two hawkens. They always draw a crowd at the range and are very fun to shoot. I would not hesitate to recommend this pistol to anyone who likes to throw a lot of lead.

Awesome revolver
Just received what is now my second revolver from DGW. Again they have surpassed themselves, purchase and delivery was exceptional, from order to receive only a few days. Item was a 1858 NMA Remington, what a great piece and addition. Beautifully crafted and feels exactly right in my hand. DGW in my opinion are the best BP suppliers out there, nothing is a bother, they promise a lot and offer good discounts and deliver on all fronts. If you’re new to BP the answer is simple, use DGW they are awesome, top marks.
