This is a really nice piece and worth having. The charcoal bluing is especially well done. The lockwork is crisp and the gun shoots well. For the mid 19th Century era reenactor this pistol would be perfect for someone doing an 1840's Texas Ranger impression Gold Rush Mexican War Officer or Republic of Texas Navy. For a display of the history of firearms this copy of the Texas Paterson would be ideal for showing one of the the earliest practical revolvers.

This is a beautiful reproduction. Action must be cycled about 20 times before timing is always correct. This gun was designed to have the cylinder completley loaded (including caps ) with the cylinder removed from the revolver. Somewhat dangerous but remember this was Colts first model. A wonderful reproduction! Make sure you purchase the display case and all boxed components.

I got my Paterson today and have already been out shooting her. It's beautiful the action is pretty stiff but I expect it to loosen up after a few hundred rounds get put through her. It shoots like a dream but fouls up pretty quickly but that's an easy fix. Fit and finish are excellent I can't say enough good about this little revolver and as usual Dixie Gun Works made everything very easy and was very helpful
