Classic large caliber double barrel pistol in the English gunsmith school style,used at close range to stop tigers which commonly leaped upon elephants carrying hunters in Howdah in the far away colonial territories. The stock is a three-quarter stock w/checkered pistol grip. American walnut w/satin finish. 20 ga. smoothbore double barrel, blued, tapered round - .985 at breeh to .825 at muzzle. Front sight is a brass bead. Barrel is 11 1/4" in length. Uses #11 percussion caps. Features color casehardened steel furniture which includes locks, buttcap, wedge plates, triggerplate, triggerguard & tang. Engraved lockplates (Rhino & scrolls on one - Leopard on other). Scroll engraving on hook breech tang & triggerplate. Overall length of pistol is 18 1/2". Uses a 1/4X28 nipple (NP1365). Recommended load is 25 grains of 2F black powder with 1 oz. shot. Manufactured in Italy by Pedersoli.

I got one of these guns right when Dixie started selling them. I am a civil war reenactor and i use it as a secondary wepon to my musketoon. I pulled it on one of my friends at an event he looked like he had seen a ghost. only thing its missing is I wish it came with some type of sholder holster I could wear under my coat.

Great gun. I have the 20 x 20 version. Recoil not bad. Good pattern at close range. I shoot 7/8 oz. shot with equal volume 2F powder. Will make a super small game gun. Also makes a mean looking home protection weapon. The only thing that is needed now is a holster for it. The holster should be able to be strapped on to the hip and also strapped/tied on to a backpack.

Craftsmanship of the pistol is very good with very minor fitting gaps between metal and wood. The triggers are not excessively heavy and both are of similar pull. The bores measure out at 0.625\" so loading is quite easy. Using 1oz of #5 shot 20yd patterns are effective for small game. This pistol is heavy but not overly. The extra weight is helpful in controlling recoil and shot columns in the unfired barrel do not shift even with heavy loads. The holster sold by Dixie fits very well and makes pistol a useable hunting tool. A video of me firing the pistol is available on youtube; search under \""howdah\"". Awesome gun. I have shot it with .60 patched round ball with buck and ball and as a shotgun. Great quality!!! Dixie tech. staff was also very helpful.

A truely awesome weapon. This will make a great whitetail deer weapon. I am using a patched .610 \" patched ball with 40 grains of FFG black powder with great success out to about 40 yards. As soon as I get the chanch I plan on trying my luck a trap shooting using #6 shot a load to be worked up. "
