A Great Kit
This kit was the best that I have built. It has some rough spots on the brass, but after all it is a kit that requires some work. My little 3 inch bench grinder took care of most of the polishing. With 22 grains of American Pioneer FFFG powder and .451 round balls, I was surprised hot it shot at 15 and 25 yards. IO plan on getting a second 1851 Yank when they become available for deer and hogs. Want to try conical bullets when molds are available. Definitely recommend it.

For a kit, the workmanship is excellent and only needed a minimal amount of buffing and polishing on the backstrap and trigger guard. Perfect cylinder timing and trigger pull. Shoots great with 22 and 24 grains of American Pioneer FFFg powder. Shoots a nice group at 25 yards. For anyone looking for a nice kit gun to build and shoot, I highly recommend this one.

Got my revolver yesterday. I spent the entire morning working on it today this was my first time with one of these kits. I used the sander on my dremel to shape the brass backstrap and wooden grips. I did a poor blueing job on the frame it ended up looking like old case hardening sorta. Overall the gun is great the only problems are my lack of experience with the kits. The cylinder locks up pretty tight could be a little tighter but its not loose to the point of being unsafe to shoot i've seen taurus 38 specials with looser cylinders. Nice naval scene engraved on it. the metal of the frame needed some burrs taken off and such. Expect it to take a long time if you don't have power tools. Can't wait to go shoot it!

This is only my second kit experience and overall I'm pretty satisfied with it. My only qualm is that the front brass bead sight is pressed in place so if you want to use a more durable hot caustic bluing process after finishing the barrel (it's got machining marks all over it) you need to remove the sight blue it and then press a new sight in place. This requires equipment that the normal hobbyist most likely doesn't have in their possession. That issue aside it was fairly simple to finish without much trouble so long as you have the patience to slowly work the rough-cast frame grip frame and grips to a fine finish. While a bench grinder/polisher isn't absolutely necessary it makes the process a lot more streamlined. The finished product shoots well. Just make sure to thoroughly clean the cylinders and nipples before firing to remove any obstructions from transport. Paid for priority (USPS) delivery
Paid for priority delivery. Took 4 days for order to go from Union City,TN to Memphis,TN. It took 8 days for my order to arrive in N.C. And that is business days. And that is not priority mail either. I kept checking the location with the tracking number. I placed one order after receiving this order. Never received a tracking number, only an order shipped e-mail. Guess Dgw didn't want to hear any questions I may have. Granted $250.00 is not a major purchase.if you spend more maybe you get better results. The kits aren't that great either. Won't buy anything else. WE ARE VERY SORRY ABOUT YOUR CONCERNS WITH YOUR ORDER. WE ARE NOT PUTTING THE BLAME ELSEWHERE BUT THE POSTAL SYSTEM IS IN CHARGE OF SHIPPING QUICKLY WHEN WE REQUEST AND YOU PAY FOR PRIORITY SHIPPING. I DO NOT KNOW WHY AN EMAIL WAS NOT RECEIVED AS THE PACKAGE WOULD HAVE HAD A TRACKING NUMBER.
