I Think that the PK0954 HOWDAH HUNTER PISTOL 20x20 is one of the Most Classic Buccaner Pistols that I Have Seen.I think 20x20 is a 20 gauge side-by-sidewhich is about a 69. Caliber Ball. This Pistol is something I am Looking Forward to shooting and Owning.A little Wood Oil on the Stock and You Will Have Fine Pistol.Thank-You for Making Fine Pistols that are Beautiful to Look at and Shoot.

I bought the 20x20 kit a few weeks ago - it finished up nice (but without checkering) and I've shot a mix of stuff through it including patched .59 round balls a bunch of buck shot and some buck and ball. Against Pedersoli's advice I find 50 gr. of Pyrodex is a good all-around load. This pistol is beautiful and i sprung for the holster to use for open carry despite the fact that I have a safe full of center fire guns. There's an intimidation factor at play here and it's a load of fun to shoot. Oh and for those of you who want to carry but are afraid of carrying with caps on the nipples (I swapped to muskets) I rigged up a leather/dowel thing to go under the arms of the hammers at half cock WITH caps on the nips - it's bombproof but falls away easily when both hammers are cocked and it fits in the holster! A few of us shot this pistol on Thanksgiving and everyone giggled like a kid after touching off both barrels. Lastly cleanup isn't bad at all and some TC BoreButter makes life even easier! Get you one of these ASAP!

Fun pistol
I got this pistol in kit form. The stock was fully inletted and about 90% formed. A little work with a rasp, files, and sandpaper and it was ready for a hand rubbed, oil finish. It finished up nicely. The walnut is very plain, not what I expected from Pedersoli. The bluing was OK but I could have achieved a deeper finish with Oxpho Blue. The muzzle was fairly rough, showing saw marks and one small nick. A little work with a file, and various grades of wet/dry sandpaper fixed this fault. Overall I was satisfied, as this is a fun pistol to shoot and usually draws a crowd at the range. Unless the finished gun offered by Pedersoli has a better bluing job and much nicer walnut stock, I would suggest getting the gun in kit form due to the significant difference in price.
