This is a fine new made rifle in the style of the Tennessee and Carolina mountains. All of the steel furniture is browned. The rifle has a 7/8” x 42” 50 caliber barrel. The barrel is unmarked as to the maker but it features 7 lands and 7 grooves of equal sizes and a 1 turn in 66” twist with a rifling dept of .012. The front sight is a brass base with silver blade while the rear sight is a semi buckhorn style made in browned steel. The tang is flared. The stock is a Pt grade Maple with some curl and is stained a medium brown color with a satin finish. There is a silver man in the moon inlay above the cheekpiece. Trigger pull length is 13 ½” and the stock has a 4” drop at the heel. The lock is an L&R Dickert style. Triggers are double set. The browned furniture consist of buttplate, toeplate, triggerguard, sideplate, nosecap and 3 round ramrod thimbles with bands on each end. The lower entry thimble has a tang. The rifle also has a browned steel mountain style patchbox. Weight is 8 ¼ lb.
