No hand fitting is required (except when forming 7/8" to fit a 13/16" barrel, then file the top of the tang). Long tang plugs have 6 1/4" tangs, and fit all standard thread sizes. Fits barrel sizes 13/16" and 7/8", threaded for 5/8 X 18, for .40, .45, and .50 calibers.
