AC0901 Cannon Vent Cover

Used to cover and protect the vent of an artillery piece. Straps are sewn to the 3 1/2"X 6" cover and mounted with an iron buckle. The cover will fit artillery pieces measuring up to 32" around the breech. Of course, the staps can be adjusted for smaller barrels. A copper pin fastened to the center of the cover fits into the vent hole and prevents slipping. This is in leather.
