During the 70’s shortage of black English gun flints, considered the best for flintlock firearms, Dixie Gun Works located a source for lesser quality, but serviceable flints from within the United States. These flints are ruggedly knapped, do not spark as well a English, and there is now a delivery and availability problem with these flints as well. 5/8" pistol size. These flints are cut and milled from selected pieces of agate. The raw stones are cut and the edges are milled with the highest precision to give the very best results. Flints have been produced by this working method since the 18th century in Germany. Our supplier lives in Mayen, Germany.
