Special order with British proof marks. Caliber is .44/40. Heavy round barrel is 24" long with half button magazine beneath the barrel. Bead style front sight and sporting style rear sight. Barrel retains about 90% soft blue finish. British proof marks are present on the upper left side of the barrel. Caliber designation is stamped on top of the chamber. Frame still has about 90% shiny blue finish. Fire blue finish remains on the loading gate. Markings on the frame are excellent. Serial number 349310, made in 1890. Lever latch is missing on the triggerplate. Plain walnut stocks are present with much of the original finish remaining. Smooth steel shotgun butt- plate which is gray in color witih no original finish. A circular car- touche is present on the center right side of the buttstock reading "JEFFREY & CO/PLYMOUTH/GEORGE STREET." Faint color casehardening remains on the lever with slightly better colors on the hammer. Bore is excel- lent. Overall condition is near excellent.
