Knives given the “Roach Belly” designation are generally used as all purpose skinners since they have a sharp point. This “Roach Belly” has a 5 ¼ inch blade with a cutting edge that sweeps downward from the ricasso and upward toward the point. It is made from 1/8 inch, L6 (saw blade steel) stock, tempered to 57-59 Rc. There is a bit of decorative file work on the back of the blade just ahead of the 4 ¼ inch, teardrop shaped, curly maple handle. The large Roach Belly comes with a genuine leather, belt loop type sheath.
