KE7104 Sheffield Bowie Knife - Stag Handle

Available again at last! Beginning g about 1830, the great cutlery houses of Sheffied, England, were turning out Bowie knives. For the rest of the 19th century and into the 20 century. Sheffield Bowies were the knives of choice for Civil War soldiers, cowboys, gunfighter, hunters, and outdoorsmen of all persuasions. The clip point blades are 6” long, 1” wide, mirror polished, high carbon steel. Etched on the blade is the motto, “Hunter’s Companion” which was found on many early Sheffield knives. The ricasso is stamped, “Sheffield, England.” The highly polished brass “reinforced” crossguard is 2 ½” long. Handle material is stag. Includes leather sheath.
