MA3600 Checkers (or) Draughts Game

It is believed that the game of checkers dates as early as 1000 A.D. Included in this set are at least fourteen variants of checkers, and other games which can be played on a checkerboard. “English” checkers is the most common variation played in America and throughout the English speaking world, and was standardized by about 1800. Game “board” is 17 ½” x 11” with 10” X 10” playing field, made of white cotton w/linen type weave. Game includes 24 wooden 1 ¼” diameter playing pieces (12 light and 12 dark) and three wooden dice. Playing pieces are decorated w/turned rings and dice have beveled edges. Complete instructions included. Packaged in a draw string bag of lightweight canvass.
