1857 Military Regulations adopted a dark blue flannel, loose fitting coat issued initially as a fatigue coat not to be worn in the field. It grew in popularity and with the existing clothing shortage, it was widely produced and distributed. Our version follows the pattern of the originals. It has a four button closure with machine sewn buttonholes. Buttons are not furnished. Unlined with one interior pocket in the left front seam. Stitching is navy blue on dark navy blue wool. STATE SIZE 40, 42, 44, OR 46 IN THE COMMENT SECTION WHEN ORDERING.
