Sinew is a muscle or tendon of an animal; dried and oiled. It was commonly used by the American Indian and frontiersman for sewing leather and hides, making necklaces, anywhere a tough, durable thread was required. Light brown in color. If a smaller strand is required, it can be split much like embroidery thread. On heavy leather, an awl is required to make holes for sewing. Our sinew is sold by weight instead of yards.
