From the earliest American Colonial times to past the Civil War, fifes were used as one of the most important parts of military bands. Two hundred year old fifes are essentially the same as those made in 1890. This reproduction is expertly made of hard rock maple as were the originals. Each fife comes with four early tunes and complete directions on how to use and play. Highly recommended.
