Expensive, high quality cased guns of the last century often included fancy, well made accessories. This vise is an example of that 19th century artistry and function. The upper and lower jaws swivel allowing mainsprings with radical curvature to be successfully clamped and compressed for installation. The screw’s “key” is wide and flat, comfortable when compressing an unusually strong mainspring.
