This was the type of shirt worn during the Revolutionary War era and was later considered by Washington to be an ideal military garment because it could be dyed almost any military color. It was usually made of linen or any other homespun cloth, with fringe on cape or collar, seams and edges. It was loose, easy to remove and allowed freedom for movement. These were usually in pullover, button, and wrap around styles. We have the wrap around type. The shirt is made from heavy linen look white cotton which can be dyed to your color preference.
