This gun is mounted on a metal clip style holster which attaches to a belt. The alteration consists of two piece aluminum grips with a headed stud located on the top of the left grip. There is a metal spring loaded receptacle on the clip with a slot into which this metal stud will slide and be retained on a belt. The metal clip is mounted on a leather pad with belt loops at either end. Both the metal clip and the right grip are stamped "M & H/TRADEMARK." The metal clip is in excellent condition and the two piece aluminum grips are also excellent. The gun itself is a Smith & Wesson Military and Police .38 Smith & Wesson Special caliber. The gun has a six-shot fluted cylinder and an original 2" barrel. The barrel is mounted with a blade style front sight. Caliber is stamped in two lines on left side of the barrel with no other markings present on the barrel other than the serial number which is stamped on the bottom underneath the ejector rod. Serial number stamped on the crane and inside the frame is 23558. The bottom of the butt is marked with the letter "S" and 951975. That number matches the number on the bottom of the barrel. The gun retains about 90% of the original blue finish overall. Smith & Wesson monogram is stamped on the sideplate on the right. Action works perfectly. Excellent color casehardening remains on the hammer and the trigger. An aluminum trigger shoe is attached to the trigger. Overall condition is excellent. Original price $1295.00.
