PW3700 CHATELAIN PEWTER LUCKEN BOOTH

A beautiful accessory piece for "My Lady". Ladies garments of the 18th century had no pockets, so the chatelaine served a dual purpose. It was an adornment for clothing as well as a utilitarian item. The 18th century housewife clipped this accessory to her apron top and items such as key, scissors, watch, thimbles, etc. hung from the chains. The crowned heart features open Celtic know designs filling two heart shapes. Plate is 2 5/8" wide X 2 1/2" tall (w/belt clip on the back). Four chains, about 6 1/2" with hooks, hang from this plate. Highest quality pewter.
