The “AN XIII” (meaning 13th year of the 1st French Republic) had a great career in Napoleon’s military. Produced from 1805 to 1819 in 150,000 pairs it was the first pistol produced under Napoleon’s order to feature industrial concepts for interchangeable parts. This was necessary because during Napoleon’s expansion in Europe, he tried to recreate the military arsenals in various countries, to have the same guns produced everywhere. Guns like the “AN XIII” differs from the “AN XI” with a shorter stock and a barrel band with an arm that extends down to the front sidelock screw which holds it in place instead of the barrel band retaining spring. American walnut, satin finished fullstock. .69 caliber, armory birght, 8 ¼” tapered round barrel. Smoothbore - .690 diameter. Single shot flintlock. Brass furniture includes buttcap, barrel band, triggerguard & sideplate. Single trigger. Lockplate is marked “Manifacture imperiale de S. Etienne” which means Saint Etienne Imperial Manufacture. Overall length is 14” and weighs 3 pounds. Manufactured by Pedersoli/Italy. THIS PRODUCT CANNOT BE SHIPPED TO NEW JERSEY OR CANADA.
