After years of trying to find a better cold blue, the folks at Novum Solutions have developed Blue Wonder Gun Blue. This is a totally different process than typical cold blue – it is not an oxidation process. It is a proprietary solution containing several micronized metals including gold, silver, nickel, copper, and chromium that chemically bonds to and darkens the surface of the metal. It will bond only to ferrous metal and to itself and will not affect, eat away, discolor or do harm to any surrounding factory or hot blue. There is no need to flush, soak, rinse or neutralize this bluing. Apply as per enclosed directions and then apply Blue Wonder Developer which reacts with, dries and sets the bluing, giving it a deep, dark, glossy finish that rivals most hot blues in both appearance and durability. Wrap the part in an oily rag for 12 to 24 hours. Prior to bluing, you must use Blue Wonder Gun Cleaner on all surfaces to be blued. We have tested both the cleaner and blue kit in our shop at DGW and found it to be the best cold blue we have yet tried. With easy to follow instructions, anyone can get professional looking results in a very short time.
